The MP3VCR now has a full screen that is dedicated to preset management. It's like having a playlist of favorite stations!
There are two basic ways of getting to the preset manager:
on the playback screen.
on the recording setup screen.
Once in this screen, playing back presets becomes very easy! The preset manager will show all presets configured. Double-click any preset to start playback!
You also have the following options within this screen:
| PLAY | Starts playback of the preset. (*) |
| ADD | Adds a new preset. This brings up the recording setup screen, where you can follow the instructions to add a new Shoutcast station or add a new Live365 station. |
| EDIT | Edit a preset. This brings up the recording setup screen with the specified station, allowing you to make any changes necessary. |
| DELETE | Delete a preset. This allows you to delete a preset from the list. |
| PLAYBACK SCR | If you are recording or playing back a station in the background, this gives you a quick way to bring up the playback window. |
| Allows you to change the directory used to scan for presets. By default, the preset manager will scan the Presets subfolder within the MP3VCR's installation location. Changing this affects the default path locations for both saving presets and the preset manager. |
If you want to, you can actually start the MP3VCR using the preset manager -- not the recording setup! Simply go to the recording setup screen , and select "Start at preset window" in the "Advanced" menu.
To start back up at the recording screen again, simply select "Start at recording window" from the same screen.

Loading and saving presets is done in the recording setup screen.
Using these buttons is simple:
Set the default path that you load and save presets to via the preset manager window above.
The MP3VCR now comes with fourty-two preconfigured radio stations that you can flip through to discover new music. I have loaded the station list with a wide variety of music -- from pop to country, alternative to R&B, 80s, oldies, talk, and everything in between. This should give you a brief glimpse of the wide variety of Internet radio stations that are out there!
Please note that some preset stations require you to configure a Live365 account.
(*) If you haven't set up a Live365 login, and select a Live365 station, the system will prompt for account information before playing back.
NOTE: Loading one of the default radio station files will set the recording directory to either the last folder you recorded music to, or to the default Windows Documents or Music folder.
NOTE: For those wishing to edit the MVR files by hand, the SomaFM Groove Salad preset comes with comments explaining each of the lines and what they mean. You can find out more information about this by clicking here.
